Simon the Shop Cat

Simon lives at Parasol Records full-time. He is a foster cat from Hospice Hearts Animal Rescue right here in Urbana (in fact, just around the corner from Parasol). He's been here since early 2023. The vet says he's a Siamese Mix, weighs 11.3 pounds, and was probably born in late 2016.

For a while it was confusing because we had both Simon the Cat and Simon the Mechanic. Obviously, we got ride of the mechanic and kept the cat. He has a variety of sleeping spaces, never staying in any one for more than a few days. It's always fun to play "Where's Simon" every morning when we come to the shop. But, if you sit on the couch for any amount of time he will usually come hang out with you.

So, next time you're in the neighborhood, stop by and visit Simon. As one reviewer said, "Came for the bikes, stayed for the cat. Hims good boy, gave him pat and he BIGGGG stretched for the camera. 10 out of 10 would pet again. Nice record selection as well."
