This is the debut album from Snow & Voices, a loosely knit amalgamation of musicians who gather in support of Los Angeles singer/songwriter Lauri Kranz, the voice and stylistic visionary behind the band. Lauri's singing style is subtle and intimate, yet still manages to convey waves of soulfulness and sensuality. The album contains a shimmering, keyboard-drenched, patch-quilt of songs written about love, loss, longing and survival by someone who knows. Each number combines classic pop melodies with a slightly darker psych-folk underbelly. Sounds best at night.
