New album from SEATTLE trio TOOTHPASTE 2000, featuring Frank and Donna of the fizz-pop duo COWBOY & SPINGIRL with drummer/producer/whippersnapper Kirk Jamieson! This, their sixth PARASOL album (and yet another sonic milestone for this veteran pop outfit), was recorded in Seattle (well, Wallingford) at Jupiter Studios. TP2K’s awesome snap-to-it two and three-minute pop anthems are adorned in the hi-est fi-est kick-ass-analogue-studio-meets-Pro-Tools production. An
album chock full (22 tracks) with melodic pop songs bristling with energy, fiery rock odes slathered in harmonies. You get BOTH! Plus all the usual Beatles/Teenage Fanclub/Byrds influences worn proudly on their sleeves, along with some swank Cheap Trick/Zeppelin/Pretenders nuances…AND The Ramones, Velvets, The Move, The Who, The Kinks, The dBs, etc.

Previous TP2K releases for the Parasol label include five full-length albums (all surprisingly popular catalog titles] and a 7” single, plus two classic albums and sundry singles as Cowboy & Spingirl. CB&SG also recorded a mini-album for seminal UK pop label Subway.

--ROCKS! THEY’RE FROM SEATTLE!
--POPS! IT’S ON PARASOL!
--BAND WILL PLAY SHOWS AROUND SEATTLE IN SUPPORT OF THE RELEASE!
--FRANK IS GREAT PALS WITH AND PLAYS IN TIM ROBBINS’ BAND!
--SUSAN SARANDON COMPLAINS ABOUT THE NOISE SOMETIMES!

“They don't hide the fact that their main influence is classic British pop, but they've been doing this long enough to have made it just one part of their arsenal which also runs to power pop, punk, and touches of artists as diverse as ELO and Phil Spector. For a three-piece they make a very big noise, thanks in part to the effective and melodic bass work by Frank Bednash, which frees up Donna Esposito to prove that women can be guitar heroes too.” -Chris Nickson for ALL MUSIC GUIDE
