Created in the spring of 2004, Mad Science Fair is the brainchild of singer/guitarist Mike Clayton, former frontman of the legendary Champaign band Hot Glue Gun. In an industry dominated by riff bands, MSF is a refreshing change, relying on old school song writing to make their case. They mix lush vocal melodies with rich power pop creating a vast, hypnotic sound. Dave Domal, who has drummed with many Minneapolis notables, like Paul Hiraga (x-Breaking Circus, The Minges) and Lori Wray (x-27 Various, Jayhawks), and bassist Jim Mefford (formerly of Champaign-Urbana cult favorites Fidget Brick, AD/HD) add a seamless rhythm section. After honing their craft locally, the band plans to hit the road this summer to support their debut CD release…for a better tomorrow.
