Bear Quartet - Everybody Else
The
Bear Quartet turns a corner, and gives birth to just one
album in 1994… Tthe
songs become less distorted, even gentle, and the band's new
approach now more defined. The soon-to-be-revered pop band
that The BQ are “becoming” becomes
quite evident. Lush strings, horns, bells -- this is where
The BQ really begins to speak to The Pop Fan inside all of
us (hopefully), where Jari’s
acoustic strums/electrified leads and Mattias’ warbling
vocals lead songs through more cinematic moods and lovely exotica
motifs. Their influences still guide them,
with some new names surfacing, like The Go-Betweens and The
Beatles, but The BQ are in all aspects blazing their own trail,
indeed. And they are just getting warmed up, really…
