Parasol New Arrivals • May 15, 2007

Hello all,

Boy, oh boy! This new postage hike has Paul and I scrambling to figure out the simplest solution that will not invade your pocketbook to the extreme. We’d like to thank you good folks in advance for bearing with us until we get all the wrinkles ironed out.

In other news, last Friday we had two new prehistoric-like visitors in the shop. Yes, two small birds found their way in to Parasol HQ and had me screaming and running in the opposite direction! In case you all didn’t know, I have quite a bird phobia. It makes living on planet Earth rather difficult, at times. But hey, I’ve learned to deal in my short thirty-two years.

As you all know, we enjoy jabbering but now we’ll jabber about something that might interest you. The new releases!

Currently we’ve unleashed the new Dungen CD from its shrinkwrap and let me tell you, it’s quite the mind/time trickery that we’ve come to know and love from our Scandinavian brethren.

Remember, Richard Lloyd and the Sufi Monkeys are on tour this week... He's playing at Schubas in Chicago tonight (5/15), then the Beachland Ballroom in Cleveland Wednesday (5/16), The Khyber Pass in Philly on Thursday (5/17), at TT The Bear's outside Boston in Cambridge Friday (5/18), and back home to Knitting Factory in NYC on Saturday (5/19). And what's a Richard Lloyd tour without some good oldschool rumormongering? Can anyone who was at the Magic Stick in Detroit Rock City last night fill in the details on the "brouhaha" before the show? Before his set was cancelled and he and various and sundry Sufi Monkeys were escorted to the city limits? According to Richard he battled employees and customers (and police officers?) and has the lumps to prove it! The Dude's got rock-n-roll flowing through his veins.

And now, Angie is desperately seeking Susan, well not really Susan but Nansi Nevins’ solo record from 1975. Ms. Nevins belted it out for the band Sweetwater. If you have a map to this gem, you very well may find the map to Angie's heart. Give us a hoot 'n' holler if you're willing to run a copy off for our beloved den mother.

Look both ways before crossing,

Royal & Paul

Ronderlin " The Great Investigation" CD $13.75 (TOMT)
Johan Lindwall from Love Is All returns with a new Ronderlin album, another shimmering slice of beautiful Swedish pop. Like their last album there are layers glittery guitars, luscious acoustic arrangements and heartwarming vocals, plus organ, strings, horns and piano. Note the recent shift towards electronic pop like New Order and even Pet Shop Boys. Ronderlin's debut album, Wave Another Day Goodbye, was released by Hidden Agenda in 2002.

1888
Honey, I'd Kill
PS, US Born out of the desire to engage in a musical spectrum of unlimited boundaries, 1888 have slowly grown into their own. HONEY, I'D KILL... is the debut album from Norfolk, Virginia's very own royal sonic family. Recorded & produced by singer-songwriter Brad Rosenberg at 1888's Clay Garden Studio, the band have created a body of work that has its own nervous system and pumps its own blood. The main arteries consist of Rosenberg, drummer Bobby Rangel and contributing singer-songwriter Daniel Driskell whose performances live and in the studio define the 1888 sound. There are voices within this music that call out to you from your past, plead for your return. Leaving you chilled or comforted, sometimes in a hysterical way, the answer is almost clear. Happiness and sadness seem to no longer have an emotional explanation. This musical experience is definitive; the theme is infinite.

Alsace Lorraine
Dark One (ON SALE)
PS, US Alsace Lorraine is the delicately delicious and unique electronic/guitar pop creation of seminary professor Paul Francke. We're pleased to announce that our favorite singer on Earth, Argentinean Singer/Artist Isol has joined Alsace Lorraine to sing on four of the album's 14 tracks too. Isol sings here in English for the first time! Isol left her band Entre Rios (Elefant {Spain}/Darla {US}) when the group signed with EMI Latin America because the deal demanded too much time away from her profession as an Artist/Illustrator. Caitlin Brice sings backing vocals on two tracks. Jane Francke (Paul's sister) sings one track. The sophomore Alsace album Dark One, though not literally very "Dark", was recorded and mixed by Paul at Paul's home studio in Chicago. Isol's warm, exotic, sensual vocals were recorded in Isol's bedroom studio in Buenos Aires. Paul's unique bedroom uber-pop soundtrack provides the perfect music bed to Isol's vocal. The result is a unique blend of Astrud Gilberto, Wolfgang Press, Eurythmics, Pale Saints, St. Etienne, Magnetic Fields, Hope Sandoval, as well as The Wake, Section 25 and other Factory-esque influences. Hopefully, Paul and Isol will make more beautiful music together. Alsace Lorraine sounds romantic; thoughtful, sensuous and smart. Comment from Paul Francke: I began the album begun during college on the south side of Chicago and completed it while working in Campbeltown, on the end of the Kintyre Peninsula, the most remote part of mainland Britain. Between those points I worked on the record in an Episcopalian seminary dormitory in Alexandria, Virginia, while training to be a seminary professor. It couldn't have been done without my brilliant, non-religious friends: Isol sings four of the best songs on the album, but she also made important suggestions for changes to the lyrics and music. We share a lot of beliefs regarding art and beyond, and it has been fascinating to work with her. Her friend Nico recorded her vocals in a studio in Buenos Aires. Caitlin Brice, the lead singer from the previous album, sings excellent backup on two songs here. Joe Moore plays guitar on one song, and my younger sister Jane sings on one song as well.

Ann, Keren
S-T
PS, US FILTER: "Move over, Leslie Feist. You've had your week. Now it's Keren Ann's turn. Another beautiful singer-songwriter with a gorgeous voice, Keren Ann plies an alluringly cosmopolitan sound -- fitting, because she divides her time between Paris and New York. This self-titled album is the follow-up to 2005's Nolita, and it finds a U.S. home on the same label that releases Norah Jones' records. Keren Ann should prove perfect for hipsters who find guilty pleasure in breathily crooned lounge ballads but think Ms. Jones is a little too commercial."

Antigama
Resonance
PS, US These guys are firing on all cylinders, combining the raw power of old school grindcore w/ the spastic acrobatics of modern technical metal. Roto-coaster drumming blasts through rough, angular riffing, creaqting a chaotic vortex of apocalyptic agression & post industrial spite. Precision insanity, catchy misdirection & psychotic momentum.

Au Revoir Simone
The Bird Of Music
PS, US Brooklyn's pop darlings are specialists in bringing out the heart from within the machine, conjuring a gorgeous, child-like effervescence via pieces of plastic, metal & wires. Their songs resonate with an organic warmth that defies their instruments of choice: three keyboards & a drum machine. Layers of synths anchored by palpitating drum machine blips & frosted by ethereal vocal melodies display that the subtle moments in human interaction are the very ones the band enjoys describing most.

Bad Spellers/London Apartments
Fall In Love
PS, US Filtered vocals, quirky pop melodies & glitchy beats characterize the sound of this debut EP release. The album includes 3 tracks from each band plus the title track, which was recorded together. Soft vocals, broken beats & layers of synths give a dark, yet uplifting mood to the London Apartments' portion. The Bad Spellers pick it up w/ quirky indie pop love ballads. The final track combines the best of both bands by allowing Justin of The London Apartments to showcase his skills w/ beat sequencing alongside The Bad Spellers' keyboard hooks & lyrics from both bands. An affectionate collection of bedroom pop gems w/ enough of an electropop edge to attract fans of acts like The Postal Service, Sigur Ros & The Notwist.

Bella Vista
Self-Titled
PS, US Not the West Coast poppers with previous Matinee/Orange Records singles, but an all new different outfit comprised of Rex Shelverton (guitar/vocals), Jeremy Bringetto (bass) and Cary LaScala (drums), Bellavista is a collaboration of childhood friends who grew up in Northern California. Bellavista are otherwise remembered as three of the final members of Vue. Vue released 2 albums on Sub Pop and an EP on RCA, and performed with legends The Rolling Stones, BRMC, Franz Ferdinand, and The Faint. Bellavista's self-titled debut captures the raw energy reflecting their stripped down sound. With production that is free from the interference of outside influence, Bellavista breaks down the barriers of mainstream music. With an image that would put some of today's rock bands to shame, Bellavista is the answer to feel-good music that you've been waiting for. So if you think rock is dead, check out Bellavista.

Ben & Vesper
All This Could Kill You
PS, US "All This Could Kill You" is a fiercely beautiful and mysterious collaboration between husband and wife BEN + VESPER and their cast of siblings, grade school friends, brand new friends and friendly strangers. Produced and recorded by DANIEL SMITH (DANIELSON), this 13-song album smartly navigates through wildly disparate genres and styles and lands squarely in the ranks of good music that you simply cannot be without. If Ben + Vesper must be classified, one could parse it as such: 1/3 English Country Lane, 1/3 Croonsville, 1/16th Motown, 1/32 Brazilian Psychodelialand, 1/32 Dark Mythic Forest. All comparisons aside, this is music that innocently holds hands with innovation and accessibility. "All This Could Kill You" is an album that is 100% human and still winsome to the masses. This recording achieves what all timeless music does: to look squarely at the sufferings of this life and hold out hope like a weapon for all to wield, and to have fun all the while.

PS, US In a city delivering high caliber retro-rock acts on a regular basis, Vancouver's Bend Sinister feels right at home. Successfully weaving the brilliance of Brian Wilson w/ the finer points of Supertramp & Yes, this is an astonishing & captivating debut. Dare I say Mars Volta-ish.

Blau, Karl
Dance Positive
PS, US According to Karl Blau, the world needs a little more Bret Lunsford, guitarist for Beat Happening & member of the band D+. So on his latest release, Blau takes the words to D+ songs and runs them through dance beats and echo machines, metamorphosing the style to give Lunsfords words new positions. And though the lyrics are the same, Blau often embellishes the vocal melodies, sometimes completely changing them. Dance POSITIVE is light- hearted & sometimes silly, but always keeps Lunsfords thoughtfulness in mind & is designed to inspire movement.

Blue Gene Tyranny
Out of the Blue
PS, US For the first time on CD, here is the official reissue of 'Blue' Gene Tyranny's first album from 1977 (originally one of the first Lovely Music releases) beautifully remastered, with new artwork and 24-page booklet. Blue is a Grammy-nominated composer and pianist who has performed on records by Robert Ashley (Perfect Lives), John Cage, and Laurie Anderson, yet this is quite different. Composing for what is essentially a chamber rock ensemble, a cast of female vocalists, and himself on the Polymoog and RMI synthesizers, Blue has created a song-cycle that reflects his intensely melodic and free piano technique in a polished studio record. Out of the Blue elegantly combines adventurous New Music technique, the style and appeal of pop music, and the grace of classical music to form an unclassifiable and totally revelatory whole. The album consists of the sublimely poppy "Next Time Might Be Your Time," the searing and soaring instrumental "for David K.," the soulful, contemplative hymn "Leading a Double Life," and finally the casually-epic 26-minute for voices & electronic and acoustic instruments, "A Letter from Home"- upon reissue declared an "ambitious and moving masterpiece" by the New York Times.

Brakes Brakes Brakes
Beatific Visions
PS, US Less dementia, more beauty from the artist formerly known merely as Brakes, recorded in Nashville. PITCHFORK: "The Beatific Visions is dominated by direly catchy and fully fleshed-out songs that pop like punk, lilt like country, mutter politics, and reek of the garage...Brakesbrakesbrakes straddle the silly-serious fault line without slipping; Hamilton's more refined vocal style-- rambunctious, squalling, charismatic and tuneful-- is a terrific conduit for such vibrantly contrasting content. If the pre-apocalyptic fear is omnipresent, so is the reckless abandon. The Beatific Visions is the shimmy at the end of the world, wide-eyed and wild as it should be."

Good-Bye, Woland!
PS, US Picture a bearded gypsy, a dead-eyed Ice Queen reigning over blanketed bodies strewn across an endless field, & gunslingers armed w/potatoes. All of them wander & list, ghostlike, in swirls of guitar, drums, cello, glockenspiel, whistle, & musical saw. Recorded at Wavelab Studios in Tucson, w/producer Craig Schumacher (CALEXICO, NEKO CASE, ROBYN HITCHCOCK, IRON & WINE). Yonder's captain, singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist & earthly guide,
Ryan Pfeiffer, creates a haunting blend of gothic-folk & psychedelic alt-country melodies w/contemporary lyrics & a multitude of indefinable elements. He is an enigmatic storyteller, a former truck driver, philosopher, maritime cadet, orchestral musician, & lawyer whose otherworldly music emanates from a rich & often bizarre catalogue of life experiences. Clientele
God Save The Clientele
PS, US On their third full-length, The Clientele are setting free their inner Monkees with a lovely blend of Big Star twisted powerpop, Byrdsian country achin', and flashes of The Beatles at their most joyful and upbeat. The ghosts, half-light, and uncertainties remain, but included in this music is a newfound optimism. With the addition of piano and violin, the band paints from a broader palette, adding splashes of pedal steel and slide guitar to their already lush songs.

Dungen
Tio Bitar (ON SALE)
PS, US New album! Over the past two years, the profile of Swedish psychedelic rockers Dungen has grown at an alarming rate, from a cult studio project into a worldwide musical phenomenon. And on Tio Bitar, we're hearing the end results of an outpouring of success and support - one which has, for once, inspired the creative processes at hand to make something wholly new and original, yet remaining within the same sphere of emotions that fostered Dungen's three previous albums. Gustav Ejstes, Dungen's founder and principal member, made Tio Bitar (translated, "Ten Pieces") - a bracing display of psychedelic rock, presented with a bright, avid confidence - largely by himself, with the assistance of guitarist Reine Fiske. Gustav wrote the songs, and played all of the instruments on his own, with Reine on many lead guitar and bass parts; his style of play puts him well within the top ranks of modern guitar heroes past and present.

Einsturzende Neubauten
Funf Auf Der Nach Oben Offenen Richterskala
PS, US Imagine a child that's been given a toy with detailed directions. Frustrated with its complexities, the child throws out the directions and chucks the toy against a wall, proceeding to step on it, bite it, smash it, and ultimately break it into as many pieces as he can. Bored with merely making as much noise as possible with the toy, the child begins to examine its parts and how it works. Though the child puts it together in a way that was not intended, the child becomes enamored with the new toy. Funf Auf Der Nach is where Neubauten truly grab hold of their broken elements and fashion them into something completely unique and (relatively) contemporary at the same time. Take their sleazy, spaghetti-westernized cover of Tim Rose's "Morning Dew" for instance, and the structured manner in which the record glides by. Very subdued and darkly ambient throughout, it's nowhere near the aural riots of yesteryear. For its lack of cacophony, and as restrained and formed as it is, Neubauten are just as unsettling, gripping, and tension-ridden as ever -- they're just finding a new way to be all of that. You expect the big release during the closer, "Kein Bestandteil Sein," but you don't get it. Funf auf der Nach is like watching a stalker cleverly follow its prey for miles, only to watch it shy away just short of lodging a knife into the back of the followed. ~ Andy Kellman, All Music Guide

Einsturzende Neubauten
Haus Der Luge
PS, UK Einstürzende Neubauten's sixth album, 1989's Haus der Lüge, is a real eye-opener as well as a turning point for the Berlin-based band. For one thing, you can hear how much more attention is being paid to rock idioms--clearly an influence from frontman Blixa Bargeld's moonlighting as Nick Cave's guitarist. More important, though, is that the metal bashing, glass breaking, and electric drilling--in many ways the be-all, end-all of the band's early, musique-concrète-influenced sound--is here harnessed in subservience to downright tuneful compositions. The unmistakable message: Hey, we're "real" musicians, too. Still, Neubauten neophytes will undoubtedly find listening to Haus der Lüge a bit like having a dentist clean their ears. The opener,
"Prolog," sounds like a German poetry slam held in a subway tunnel, and "Fiat Lux," a 12-minute opus kicked off by 30 seconds of buzzing bees, is bound to get up your bonnet. Elsewhere it's a different story. The beat-heavy "Feurio!" projects an industrial-dance energy, and the lilting "Ein Stuhl in der Hölle" sounds like it was meant to be chanted in a beer hall. But the crowning achievement here is the title track, an epic, foot-stomping, Dantean allegory that culminates with God shooting himself. Simply awe-inspiring.

Halber Mensch
PS, UK Though it's a bit less intentionally noisy than previous Neubaten material, 1/2 Mensch is, in a way, the group's masterpiece. The inspired use of such "traditional" instruments as a grand piano alongside the band's characteristic blazing percussion make for a record similar more to their compositional influences like Stockhausen than their nearest contemporaries, Throbbing Gristle or Cabaret Voltaire. The record that showed Einstürzende Neubaten could rise above the concept of noise for its own sake to reach another level of noise-oriented post-punk music, 1/2 Mensch is an excellent feat of industrial music. --AMG

Drawings Of Patient Ot
PS, UK Recorded in London, England; Berlin and Hamburg, Germany from January to August, 1983. 2006 digitally remastered reissue edtion of the pioneering electronic iconoclasts' second full length album originally released in 1983. The title of the album is derived from paintings by Swiss mental patient Oswald Tschirtner whose drawings are highly regarded by collectors for their disconnect between logic and reality. Thus an appropos metaphor for the concept of the band's music, which grows ever tighter (if that were possible) in context of their artistic vision. The CD comes in a digipak with accurate original artwork.

El Hijo
Las Otras Vidas
PS, SPAIN El Hijo is Abel Hernández, whose sheltering voice used to appear on Migala, possibly the best Spanish indie band ever. Surrounded by old book fantasy, Abel has written nine notes full of folk, country and pop sung in Spanish that thrive in a personal songwriting. Las otras vidas (The other lives) is an enchanted tapestry where knights ride miles of moor to know who they are, where love is finally gonna be fruitful and the horizon seems to be moving further away. Far from Migala's dregs of American tradition or instrumental post-rock, El Hijo is a glance at the gone days.

"No Shouts No Calls" is an album of enticingly irregular brilliance. BLENDER: "Electrelane effortlessly assimilate a wide cut of moods and influences - the off kilter harmony of the Velvet Underground, the droning insistence of Krautrock heroes Can, the bratty brashness of feminist popsters Le Tigre - into a heartfelt batch of art-pop that never sounds snobby"

Field, The
From Here We Go Sublime
PS, GERMANY 12" version; three DJ-friendly tracks from the debut album from The Field. The blissful, addictive, transformative sounds on From Here We Go Sublime absolutely speak for themselves. Samples abound throughout, immediately giving you a feeling of warmth and familiarity on the first listen that you can't quite grasp... like a warm glove on a cold winter's day. The Field's music literally breathes: harmonious drones mingle with the dizzying swell and reversed motion of bass drums and euphony. There is a ceaseless, cyclical signature familiar to all his music, but that's the most exciting part of The Field -- the beautiful dynamic of beats and space that exists in endlessness. Ten perfect tracks of narcotic, propellant stuff -- an important and significant debut that promises Willner quite a few more laurels to come.

Field, The
Things Keep Falling Down
PS, GERMANY "Bizarre thoughts and classy patterns are not necessarily mutually exclusive, and the same with madness and method. However, one of the lessons you might learn from in-depth musicological considerations is that there may be right-minded, crazy gains which are far more than mere distortions of language, hi there, and welcome to Kompakt's head quarter. The so far unknown Swedish artist Axel Willner cracks every single security system installed at Kompakt's high security demo section by using poppy, self-loved cut-up-classy-splatter-loop-bits-and-pieces-patterns. Most convincingly, the field starts at the point where Profan had already been ten years ago: that is he transfers the basic essence of rhythm inherent in every 'Wicked Groove/Sexy Loop' into a kind of virtual space of deconstructing the self in order to liberate this loop from any discourse-infected, intellectual ballast of its author by means of a kind of mental washing machine. As long as I can dance to it." -- Roy Makaay.

Fields, The
Everything Last Winter
PS, US New album from uber-hyped UK band, the foolow up to their much-adored 2006 single "If You Fail We All Fail". FILTER: "Fields bridges folk, fuzz, and rawk with a refreshing sincerity. Probably helps that the quintet has already demonstrated in its brief one year of recorded existence greater pop panache than most of the recent Anglo slag that have attempted similar feats, such as the Doves, Elbow, and tomorrow's Heads, Knees, and . . . . The group frequently receives comparisons with singular bands like Pentangle and My Bloody Valentine, but never mind the press: It's bollocks, as usual. Fields warmed U.K. souls with the thick hold of 'shrooms and lollipops on its major-label debut, Everything Last Winter, last month; now it's time for stateside audiences to cop a fix."

Flash Hawk Parlour Ensemble
Plastic Bag In A Tree
PS, US CHRIS FUNK (DECEMBERISTS) has made a gorgeous, instrumental space-folk recording with a little help from his friends. In 2005, Chris Funk & his family moved into their new home in Portlands historic Mississippi neighborhood. He would play various instruments on his porch during hot summer nights, which caught the attention of his neighbors. He soon found out there was an unusual amount of musical activity on his block, and that he was surrounded by closet folksmen & recovering band geeks. Funk invited his neighbors in for weekly living room hootenannies, and this recording documents those times in an array of cover songs & original "jams" written in a haze fueled by fellowship, libations & other unmentionables.

Thieves Among Thorns
PS, US This new collection of songs, stripped bare of the Orchestras usual members, reveals a quieter, sadder aspect of their work, and was recorded after Nick dreamed of commiting suicide with a Bible in a Geneva first-class hotel. As a result, Thieves Among Thorns is all about forlorn piano lullabies, insecure percussions & torpid classical arrangements, eerie ballads & numbing rythms, terminological inexactitudes & sleepy hyperboles. Ten desolate tracks where Nicks laptop arrangements & quiet, inconsolable vocals interweave with pianist Jasmine Pinkertons eastern-Europe sensitivity & Nicholas Davis' precise guitar. Guitar
Dealin with Signal and Noise
PS, US On this his new work "Dealin with Signal +and Noise" Lueckner delves deeper furthering his open attitude even more. On 4 tracks of the new album he cooperates with the Japanese Singer Ayako Akashiba (who also worked with him on all recent Guitar albums), and on 3 tracks he worked with the American guitar band Voyager One (Seattle). Its obvious what this means: With his new album, Guitar is going back more in the direction of psychdelic guitar-sound. This is a Sea of Sound. The Sound-Sea is wilder and heavy even - but between the storm of noise and feedback you could always hear the sirenes. But dearies - don't be afraid, nobody dies.

PS, US HIG is Ted Flynn, veteran of L.A. & Chicago indie-rock scenes and St. Petersburg, FL-based guitar anti-hero. His previous release garnered immediate comparisons with Slint & Seam. The album opens immediately showcasing Flynn's playing- from the gentlest of drones to wrenching, weeping walls of furious resonance. Houseguest
High Strangeness
PS, US Houseguests live shows have, in the past, turned into debacles, with shirt removal, sing-alongs, and drunken arguments between band members as par for the course. Much more than just five badly behaved college bums. The songwriting is well honed & the sound is the bands own. The group has seen much of the horror of life, but would rather instill hope than coddle despair. The albums fourteen tracks range from frenetic pop barnburners to heartfelt, anthemic ballads. Recorded & produced by Patrick Carney (BLACK KEYS). "While the abandon of their stage presence is something to behold, what they are capable of committing in the studio is staggeringly beautiful, skewed pop." -PopMatters

Katamine
Lag
PS, US Katamine's disturbingly stripped, windswept odes to woe take us into the thicker parts of the woods where direct light
is shrouded, allowing only for occasional glimmers to expose its bare, heart-twisting body of work. Assaf (EX-LION TAMER) morose voice creaks in that muffled, ashen solitude reminiscent of human nature at its most introspective & vulnerable. The absence of a verse-chorus-hook structure, replaced by a sort of a freeform, godless sermon, takes folk to more avant-garde territories. The mould is cracked open by overbearing isolation, and from there it soars independently, sorrowful, morbid & haunting.

Kebnekajse
III
PS, SWEDEN This is the first reissue of the third Kebnekajse album, originally issued by Silence in 1975. Kebnekajse's music ignored traditional musical boundaries (which must be a hallmark of the term "progressive music"). III continued very much in the same vein, but this time with a more sharply honed politicized edge. This was programmatic, instrumental music with a message. Here you'll find mostly folk tunes but also an instrumental country tune by Kenny called "S:t John" and Ingemar's instrumental ballad called "Balladen Om Björnbär Och Nätmelon" ("The Ballad of Blackberries and Netmelon"), where jazz and rock are glued together by a pure, Swedish folk-tone. The album is finished with an African melody "Mariamá!" pointing towards the next album Ljus Från Afrika (Lights from Africa).

Kebnekajse
II
PS, SWEDEN First reissue of the second Kebnekajse album, originally issued on Silence in 1973. "It was something in the air," said Kenny Håkansson in the booklet to their first album Resa Mot Okänt Mål (Journey to Destination Unknown). He was then referring to the Swedish lyrics and the name of the group. In the early '70s Swedish folk music was also "in the air." The progressive rock history book Scented Gardens Of The Mind says of this time-period: "...a clear change of direction towards a new kind of Swedish folk-rock with fiddle and electric guitar to the fore, but it also added the hot African percussion of Hassan Bah and jazzy experimentation." This is exactly the type of recording Kebnekajse hoped for with their second release: country fiddles flirting with jazz rock and plenty of African beats.

Kebnekajse
Resa Mot Okänt Mål
PS, SWEDEN First ever reissue of the first three Kebnekajse albums on Silence. This debut album (the title translates to (Journey to Destination Unknown) was originally issued in 1971. Liner notes for these three are in Swedish only, but English translations can be found on: http://www.silence.se/nyheter/english.htm. Kebnekajse were a loud and hard Swedish rock band. References abound from Cream, Mountain, November and even Jimi Hendrix in a perfect amalgam of British hard rock and psychedelia from the American west coast enhanced by cryptic Swedish lyrics. There is something unmistakably Swedish in Kenny Håkansson's way of handling his guitar -- something unspecified, a tone, a Nordic mood. Kebnekajse did not play electric blues, or have its roots in Afro-American music but was rather torn up and then replanted into the Swedish soil --just to see if it could grow and flourish. Their name is taken from Kebnekaise, the highest mountain in Sweden.

Imagine Our Love
PS, US The debut from this LA-based group is a tour-de-force of gorgeous folk-pop melody and uplifting sentiment. Produced by Tom Monahan (Pernice Brothers, Devendra Banhart, Brightblack Morning Light), and featuring the incomparable soprano voice of Becky Stark, the album includes twelve new songs and original artwork by drummer and noted artist/cartoonist Ron Rege. The band's slightly tongue-in-cheek demands for world peace and harmony are subtly undercut by minor key modes and absurdist lyrics. The result is deeply entertaining and subversive.

Lindt, Virna
Shiver
PS, UKAn extended CD reissue of 'Shiver', the debut album by Swedish pop sophisticate Virna Lindt, originally released by The Compact Organisation in 1983. Written and produced by Virna Lindt and Tot Taylor, the acclaimed Shiver album offers 12 slices of chic, Cold War pop informed by 1960s spy thriller soundtracks and musique concrete, including the singles Attention Stockholm and I Experienced Love. The album has been digitally remixed and re-modelled from the original mastertapes, and now sounds even more immaculate than before. The new edition of Shiver also features bonus track The Windmills of Your Mind, a rare Michel Legrand cover version from The Thomas Crown Affair originally recorded for the Crepuscule movie compilation Moving Soundtracks. Contemporary reviews for Shiver:"Intrepid undercover agent disguised as a top international fashion model sets out on a secret mission behind the Iron Curtain, armed only with a firm sense of fair play and a gadget-filled powder compact" (NME); "Euro-eccentric. Virna Lindt casts herself as a mysterious blonde in a loving pastiche of Continental movie music" (Sounds); "Only the surly amongst you can fail to acknowledge the splendour of Virna Lindt's new single I Experienced Love, and the equally thrilling Shiver lp, the epitome of Compact's sleek, chic Sixties tease" (The Face); "Imagine a pastiche of all those old Sixties spy series, like Danger Man, The Avengers and The Man From Uncle. Well, this would be the perfect soundtrack to go with it" (London Evening Standard). The CD also features a deluxe 12 page booklet featuring original artwork and detailed dossier on Virna Lindt. Lindt, Virna
Play/Record
PS, UK The first release on CD of 'Play/Record', the second album by Swedish pop sophisticate Virna Lindt, originally released by The Compact Organization in 1985. Written and produced by Virna Lindt during a three-week holiday in London, Play/Record tackles girls who cannot stand the colour red, the numbing effect of the new media, and subterfuge and skulduggery in her adopted home town (the single My Home Town). The album has been digitally remastered by close collaborator Tot Taylor, and now sounds even more immaculate than before. Unfortunately Virna abandoned music forever after creating Play/Record, leaving the world a poorer place. Contemporary reviews for Play/Record: "Ms Lindt deftly conveys a sense of breezy, delirious Sixties camp. Arch instrumentals such as the title track and Add It Up are nothing short of wondrous, and the album is a delightful and accurate evocation of a period when music was allowed to be fun" (Melody Maker); "A uniquely crafted voiceover masterpiece, the diverse tempo moves from the sunny waft of single My Home Town to the more sombre tones of Any Colour But Red" (Sounds); "Lush, intelligent and very, very sexy" (Underground). The CD also features a deluxe 12 page booklet featuring original artwork and liner/recording notes.

Mainliners
S-T
PS, SWEDEN Swedish garage-rock howlers Mainliners are back! After their praised debut release, Bring On The Sweetlife, on Get Hip Recordings they're now back and ready to strike with a second smashing album. Their music has grown, grown from garage music to a more modern and refined pop and rock music. Feedback, furious guitars, catchy pop melodies, warmth and soulfulness plus much, much more.

HIGH BIAS: "Sweden's Mainliners started out as a hot-shit garage rock combo, but, like a lot of modern groups trying to outdo the Hives, they've matured. Mainliners pushes pop melody and textural variety to the forefront-the band call still barrel ahead full throttle (see "Good Storm"), but doesn't crash and bash constantly. Singer Robert Billing has improved immensely, adding subtlety and nuance to his performances, where before he merely blared. Besides rocking out, the band successfully pulls off smoldering ballads ("A Secondary Truth," "Bourbon & Ice") and snappy pop songs ("Round Five," Olivia," "Is This Satisfying...?") as if to the hook born. Nicely done, lads."

Mary Timony Band, The
The Shapes We Make
PS, US Their Kill Rock Stars debut represents the latest stage in the evolution of one of the most important voices in underground music. Flowing from the mystic prog-laced veins that have informed her art for the past decade, this record builds upon the stark rebellious austerity of 2005's "Ex Hex" and imbues it with warmth and formidable urgency. Equal parts clairvoyance and virtuosity, Mary (formerly of Helium) and her musicians paint in broad strokes a vivid landscape of colorful musical shapes. Much more than a gifted crafter of melody, Timony is a talented multi-instrumentalist, recording among other things, intricately layered keyboards, banjos, analog synths, viola, the melotron, and a vintage Casio PT1.

Melnyk, Lubomyr
KMH
PS, US Lubomyr Melnyk's debut album from 1978, KMH, is an unheralded touchstone of minimalism. Performing solo on piano with a speed that suggests multiple pianos playing together in harmony, Melnyk nearly brings out the full sound of the instrument all at once. His music is lush and maximal yet it possesses the restrained, slowly evolving nature found in music by artists like Steve Reich and Terry Riley. Melnyk developed his unique approach to minimalism while working with dancer/choreographer Carolyn Carlson (who also worked with Igor Wakhevitch) in Paris during the 1970's. Carlson's influence led Melnyk to create music that is dramatic enough for the stage yet meditative enough for deep listening, a version of minimalism with the engimatic traces of Satie. Remastered from the privately produced master tapes with new artwork and an 8-page photo booklet.

Zidane: 21st Century Portrait
PS, US Soundtrack to the documentary of the controversial head-butter, err football star. Confirmed football fans, the Glaswegian band are responsible for the perfect soundtrack to Zidane, a documentary portrait of the French footballer. THE SUNDAY TIMES: "Mouthwateringly beautiful". DROWNED IN SOUND: "Yet, the most loin-girdingly exciting material on this soundtrack comes when structure is sent to the subs' bench and is replaced by the 'Gwai's reliable but rarely-used squad player - ambient, droney experimentation. 'Wake Up And Go Bezerk' is a gorgeous piece of hazy, strung-out and strangely uplifting melancholia, embellished by acoustic guitar twangs, and with subtle piano notes and gentle feedback fading in and out of the mix, possessing in abundance the gravitas required. Meanwhile, 'It Would Have Happened Anyway' is a wonderful marriage of Spacemen 3-style droning FX shot through with the echoes of a football match's sonic detritus."

Moore, Sean
Signs of Potential Life
PS, US His debut full-length is filled w/ soaring highs & solemn lows w/ a taste for dynamics only a classically trained musician can create. The songs deal w/ loss in the best way possible - through beauty & dignity, patience & honesty, & immediacy coupled w/ a soft-footedness. It shows his command of every single facet of crafting a perfectly poignant record. "He indulges in a blend of Elliott Smith/Sufjan esque melody filled singer/songwriterism, a dash of Ben Lee-esque balladeerism, a few dots of lo-fi courtesy of the likes of Ariel Pink, & finished off w/ a few hints of Brian Wilson-like wonder." ~ The Runout Groove

Mystery Jets
Zoo Time
PS, US The Mystery Jets embody British pop at its most invigoratingly weird. Already, previous singles have seemed like dispatches from some starry-eyed parallel universe where Syd Barrett never dropped out but played on with Einsturzende Neubauten, where the irresistible pop of Dexy's can happily co-exist with the Krautrock explorations of Can, and where the most forbidding musical forms of the past, like prog rock, are gleefully reinvented in the smash-and-grab spirit of the present. With "ZooTime", be prepared to have your life forever enriched by a band relentless at breaking boundaries and enlightening one's soul with much of their own.

Narrator
All That To The Wall
PS, US The 3rd release from the Chicago band will likely appeal to fans of indie rock from the last decade. They can be both noisy and melodic, reminding this listener of acts like Modest Mouse, Guided by Voices, or Built to Spill at different moments.

Nonloc
Between Hemispheres
PS, US The solo guise of Mark Dwinell, the guitar-slinging ringleader of East Coast spontaneous trance rockers BRIGHT. Nonloc seeks to focus on the microtonal universes & hypnotic netherworlds minimalism awakens from repetition, while constructing ivory towers of melody enveloped top to bottom with softly barbed hooks. Acoustic & electric guitars provide focus instrumentation, but the elaborate color accumulation of Between Hemispheres is dominated by alternate layering of acoustic instruments such as piano, accordion, mandolin & cello. Whereas Bright will use vocals sparingly as instrumental color, Nonloc spices up the instrumental forays by peppering tunes with lyrics that are direct & at times strikingly personal.

Of Montreal
Icons, Abstract Thee
PS, US Originally part of a planned Hissing Fauna... double-album these tracks are (now) considered the companion piece to Of Montreal's latest sad, stricken, but still sugar-glammy masterpiece... Five songs recorded during those same sessions, including the absolutely lovely "Miss Blonde, Your Papa is Failing", one of the prettiest songs in their history.

Olausson, Jakob
Moonlight Farm
PS, US Sweden's Olausson is a sugar beet farmer and his record of ten songs is somehow both comforting and unsettling, concerned with the classic subjects such as the garbage, the flowers, one's mother, and the love of them all. Laid thick with a vague dissonance, they possess a mask of fog/haze, but the trail between writer/performer/song is not often trodden in such a deftly crystalline manner. "From one loner to another, this is everything that the phrase 'private press' conjures up and more. A modern classic" - David Keenan, The Wire.

Orange, Adrian
Bitches Is Lord
PS, US A revelation of the highest order as Adrian Orange sets out to capture the energy, presence & full-bodied force of a Thanksgiving live performance. This new album has more of the meaningful songs that Orange does so well, but this time around things just sound fierce. Hints of Johnny Cash & Crazy Horse-era Neil Young are touchstones. Minimal dirges & cloaked political blues butt up against triumphantly colorful anthems. Drums smack with simple, raw intensity while guitars curl & bounce around Oranges deep, older-than-his-age voice, sounding out cries, laments & triumphs unto the dawn of this troubled world.

Orwell
Archipel
PS, GERMANY This is the perfect record for a sunny Sunday morning summer picnic. The new album by the fantastic French band Orwell contains wonderful songs with French and English lyrics; sounds somewhere between Californian soft rock and the nouvelle P!O!P! scene. Sunshine-P!O!P!-chansons for the tgv-jetset, one could say. If you like Tahiti80 you'll love Orwell. This CD includes three bonus tracks from the first album and is dressed in a digipack that was created by the fantastic Danish designer Lykke Sandal.

Ov
Noctilucent Valleys
PS, US There exists a sense of optimism in Ovs humming analog drones, a floating light within a pack of ominous clouds. Nocilucent Valleys takes Ov's expansive palette, blurrs & disguises instrumental thresholds & presents sheer sound augmented by mysterious & mesmerizing gentle clamor. Initial impressions slowly morph into demonstrative bliss, synthesizing the organic & the unknown. The new project from prolific, longtime collaborators Christine Boepple (Skygreen Leopards contributor) & Jewelled Antlers Loren Chasse. Ov pushes the duos established scopic pallette further into the void. Touching upon traditional minimalism & psychedelic free-form folk music, NV plays like the soundtrack to an otherworldly fairy tale, with foggy oscillations guiding the extrinsic myth.

Page France
Page France And The Family Telephone
PS, US The band's fifth release in four years is the product of many hands, but the work of one heart. Principle songwriter Michael Nau's lyrics call to mind Dylan or Nilsson ghostwriting for Margo Guryan, all well-accompanied by a range of upbeat instrumentation. "Rich in melody and rife with dreamy natural/biblical imagery...Michael Nau's adolescent voice sweetly floats over occasional female backing vocals and sparse instrumentation (organ, glockenspiel, acoustic guitar)" - Spin. "Delicate chamber folk" - CMJ. "Spiritual-folk auteurs" - Alternative Press. "Pillowing melodies and effervescent hooks" - DIW. "Nestled within Page France's languid sound are Ben Fold's earnestness and a melodic sensibility reminiscent of early Neutral Milk Hotel" -Baltimore City Paper.

Pentangle
Time Has Come
US, PS A decade ago, another reissue with the same title - and annotated by the same guy - helped revive interest in Anne Briggs. Back then, a folk revival seemed about as tenable as New Labour's "Cool Britannia". Come the mid-late noughties, however, a disparate swell of hirsute avant-folkies are carrying it on with some gusto, winging original greats like Bert Jansch along in their slipstream. Now, with a recent appearance at the Radio 2 Folk Awards, it's Pentangle's - the dauntless folk-jazz collective Jansch forsook a solo career for back in 1967 - who are feeling the creak of history's wheel.

As indebted to Chico Hamilton and Ravi Shankar as they were to modal folk, and hardly shy of sneaking in a Miles Davis quote, Pentangle - of all British folkies - got rhythm; in fact it's difficult to imagine landmarks like Nick Drake's Bryter Layter or John Martyn's Solid Air being made without them. Subjected to the rolling traction of Terry Cox's drums, the bend and belch of Danny Thompson's double bass, the idiomatic mastery of guitarists Jansch and John Renbourn, and Jacqui McShee's siren-savvy soprano, hitherto stolid ballads swing like dervishes.

Longtime fans know all this, and the remastered album tracks sound wonderful, but the real news is the previously unreleased material included here (30 songs' worth), not least the soundtrack stuff. Burns standard Tam Lin, recorded for Roddy McDowell's obscure thriller, and the theme for '70s wildlife documentary Christian The Lion both sound great. The highlight, though, is The Best Part Of You, a groovy slice of folksploitation which could easily have graced Beyond The Valley Of The Dolls.

Pink Martini
Hey Eugene
PS, US The genre-bending, best-selling, supremely talented & raucously fun twelve-piece ensemble that the New Yorker calls simply "beautiful," "sophisticated," & "breathtaking"-returns with Hey Eugene!, a sonic journey anchored by deft songwriting & a no-holds-barred dose of cabaret showmanship. Delivered with sultry grace by lead singer China Forbes, Hey Eugene! shines throughout-from the golden-era Hollywood melody of "Everywhere" to the French cabaret of "Ojala." Other collaborations anchor the set as well: the pan-world "Dosvedanya, Mio Bombino" with its Latin-meets-Russian beat & globetrotting subject matter, plus the Forbes-Lauderdale-penned sexy sway of "City of Night." Peruvian percussionist Martin Zarzar debuts the romantically complex "Mar Desconocido" and bassist Phil Baker adds the quiet beauty of "Cante e Dance"

Plants
Photosynthesis
PS, US Plants have evolved well beyond their sparse & mystical roots to sail along a rich & diverse confluence of mind-enhancing streams. Reaching deep within, Plants unfurl Photosynthesis, a haunting foray into gently rippling netherworlds. Aptly named, Photosynthesis illustrates the subtle skill in which Plants extract & blend a variety of sounds to concoct a heady elixir of minimalist psychedelia. A rotating cast of support for the husband & wife core offers a diverse array of instrumentation, including acoustic/electric guitars, cello, singing saw, organ, electric tones & a guest appearance from Jason Buehler (NICE NICE) on banjo & "piano box". Gently swirled together, Plants invoke images of a quiet solstice ritual involving early Popol Vuh, the fusion-folk of C.O.B., and a flower-powered, V.U.-era John Cale

Pop Group, The
Y [remastered]
PS, US One of Thee Most Important Records of the late 70s, truly the birth of post-punk, incoporating dub, free jazz, and glitch before glitch was even invented. Think Gang of Four for starters and then every weird rock album since... Features standout classic tracks "She Is Beyond Good And Evil" and "We Are Time". ALL MUSIC GUIDE: "Emerging in the late-'70s post-punk era, this militant gang of leftist radical politicos from Bristol, England, specialized in a funk-driven cacophony of sound that was abrasive, strident, and ultimately very exciting... Despite its raw, inherent anti-commerciality, the Pop Group's dissonant agit-prop rock did influence a contemporary generation of political bands like Fugazi, Fun-Da-Mental, and Rage Against the Machine."

Remate
No Land Recordings
PS, SPAIN REMATE is a musician trained in classical music since was wearing short trousers and long socks. His first hero was a heroine, a skinny Bielorrusian piano teacher, who taught him how to play piano for hours without hurting his hands and wrists. The second hero was a Southafrican guitar teacher with a curly toupée, who instilled him the significance of the posture if you wish to turn into a good guitarist. After these pre-Olympics he became a singer-songwriter without limits: from folk to blues, from rock to gospel, from country to pop, always with the ambition of the one who knows that you must deserve your own influences, and that having style means much more than quoting other stylists. His distinctive features are, apart from playing piano avoiding pain, and having a good posture and/or a stance of defiance with the guitar... to be a very good singer, sometimes high-pitched ("Ballads Don't Change Things", 2004), and keen (also in person); at the beginning his voices sounded like a drunk Ry Cooder or between J. J. Cale and Neil Young; then (since "On Junk", 2005) a cocktail of Kurt Wagner (Lambchop) and Wagner without Kurt (he would have a voice as cavernous as his operas). Lately his singing has been non dissimilar to Bob Dylan yapping in a small town library. The process, of course, finally turns up to Remate's signing to Acuarela for a brand new ouvre created like a labour of love. "No land Recordings", his new double album with 25 songs, is jam-packed with clouds of latex, giant wings, toxic passion, dinosaurs, enemies, falls, one-eyed singers, pain in vain, kitties and beautiful ladies, love at first sight, howls, fireflies, propeller beanies, TV shows, sports, calls, Superman, glowing colours, bankruptcy, tenderness, mends. Whereabouts are the best songs being born? Where do they grow up like unhappy children? Which are the shops where you can buy propeller beanies?

Ronderlin
The Great Investigation
PS, SWEDEN In 2002, Ronderlin's debut album, "Wave Another Day Goodbye" was released by our Hidden Agenda label in the US. Their guitar driven pop and melancholy Nick Drake-ish melodies were given a warm reception. Over the last five years, the band's focus has shifted a bit more electronic and experimental, with hints of Pet Shop Boys and New Order. On the other hand, a multitude of various inspirational sources may be found in Ronderlin's music; Camel, Indochine, Wilco and Fleetwood Mac to mention a few. The multifaceted sound is created by a multifaceted band. Since the first album, the band has spent time in musical escapades in pretty different directions. While Kalle has found inspiration in the Far East, Johan toured the world with energetic Love is All. Per played the trumpet and organ in 60s soul/pop inspired Irene and also in different pop and experimental acts like Maison Blanche and Nude Fox Ensemble. Mats extended his folk influences in Mildendo and in bluegrass projects. Despite the eager escapades and investigations, it's clear that the band members, their musical luggage respectively, belong to Ronderlin - and it shows in the music they create together.

Rumskib
S-T
PS, US Darla is proud to release the debut record by Danish nu-gaze group Rumskib. Rumskib is the Odense, Denmark duo of Keith Canisius (Guitarist, Vocalist, Composer, Producer) and Tine Louise Kortermand (Singer). Keith produced the debut record with Jonas Munk (Manual), who programmed the beats, made the electronic sounds, and played synthesizer. Rumskib's debut record begins with a Simple Minds New Gold Dream style intro. A rough & repetitive MBV Loveless style guitar line kicks in. Next an aggressive baggy beat begins to pump making Rumskib sound nearly like Curve. Then a very lovely surprise: A very pretty, Lush style guitar change comes and simultaneously the wall of sound vocal harmonies begin - like Emma, Miki... and Bjork! There's no denying Rumskib are derivative, however, Rumskib has such command of all the genre's key sound elements and their own pop songs are so damn good the band gloriously claim the new shoegaze sound as their own. Rumskib's sound is at once modern and classic, blending a strong love for early 90s shoegazer bands such as Chapterhouse and Lush with the sensibilities of grand Scandinavian 80s pop such as A-Ha and Roxette, all flavored with harsh noise-rock guitars and crunchy micro-programmed beats. Sometimes their sound is up-tempo, almost danceable like The Cardigans meet St. Etienne. At other times their sound is thick, heavy, and romantic recalling The Cocteau Twins or Simple Minds. Rumskib manage to be both surrealist and accessible; complex but straight forward. Vocalist Tine Louise creates harmonies so beautiful one would think they came from some mysterious wonderland (or Victorialand?) and Keith Canisius' lyrical call & response guitar playing is intelligent and evocative. Combine all this with well crafted compositions and Jonas Munk's trademark head-spinning, multi-layered sound sculptures, and you've got a work of undeniable beauty. Track list: 01. Hearts On fire, 02. Springtime, 03. Dreampoppers Tribute, 04. Where Are The Flowers, 05. Ferris Wheel Blackout, 06. Think Eyes Away, 07. You're My Japan, 08. Sneak, 09. Crucial Love Games, 10. Ovation Outsiders, 11. Girl Afraid, 12. Love At First Sight. ""Re-evokes my dancing feet with the fragrance of Liz Fraser insanity there on top.. humm..There' s some serious celebration going on in Scandinavia now." -- SERENA MANEESH ""Springtime" kills, kills again, and then kills some more. And then bathes in in the blood of its own awesomeness." --JATUN

Satie, Erik
Cubist Works 1913-1924
PS, UK A new CD in our series by visionary French composer Erik Satie (1866-1925), following the success of previous releases Vexations, Socrate, Musique de la Rose + Croix and Dada Works, on which we present selected Satie recordings with explicit links to the unconventional, the mystic and the avant-garde. Cubist Works offers four works composed by Satie between 1913 and 1924 for his collaborations with the artist Pablo Picasso. These include piano and orchestral versions of his scores for the celebrated 'Cubist' ballets Parade (1917) and Mercure (1924), as well as the seldom-heard organ 'diversion', The Statue Found (1923). The 60 minute CD also includes The Puppets Are Dancing, written for the French Futurist dancer and poet Valentine de Saint-Point in 1913, and the ludic Trois Valses distinguées du précieux dégouté ('Three Disgustingly Precious Waltzes'), a barbed swipe at rival composer Maurice Ravel and premiered at an exhibition of works by Picasso, Matisse and others in 1916. The solo piano works on this CD are performed by Bojan Gorisek. The booklet includes archive images and detailed liner notes by James Hayward.

Schwarz
Heavengazers
PS, SPAIN Schwarz return with "Heavengazers", recorded in Germany last summer. Embracing a brunch of pirouettes full of sound and melody, Schwarz have created a unique and personal language based on bands like Loop, Spectrum, 13th Floor Elevators, The Stooges and even Can. Ten songs that swing between precision and exploration, risk and fun. Psychedelic pop is not an easy game to play when you live in Murcia, a small town in eastern Spain. Let's just say that the distribution/communication channels don't really know what's going on there. But isolation can sometimes turn into your best allied, being away from pressure and trends. So that's how Schwarz have developed such an intense and vibrant career. Alfonso Alfonso, Juanma Martínez and César Verdú have always been true to themselves. Since their debut "This Songs Mean Nothing" in 1998, they've followed their path silently and with firm steps. A path where psychedelia turned into a lighting fire, krautrock expanded sound as a magnifying glass and indie rock became a hand to hold. The warm welcoming of "Hard Listening" brought more glances to these Martians, as so did their acclaimed live performances. That's how they reached "Heptágono", an odd album recorded with the Spanish masters of voltage Manta Ray. "Heavengazers", their first Acuarela release, can only ensure Schwarz's sound expansion. By the way, this tortured trio reinforces their indescribable style filled with hypnotism, energy and personality. Drone-rock, kraut-rock, art-rock... Why using such "euphemisms" when we only mean "ROCK"? Dirty and intense rock. Rock that, ahem, really rocks. A genre that assumes and works with different possibilities of creating a new type of noise. Sonic spirals remind us of Jessamine, Quickspace or Oneida, with whom they share influences and a pride of being very fond of risk. This new release by Schwarz evolves us in a new rhythm from which we can't be blinded. A rhythm that will guide us to the end of a tunnel of atmospheres drilled by dense, cloned, mysterious music where you won't even notice a hint of seriousness or importance. Schwarz knows how to put the exact amount of sugar ne
