Parasol New Arrivals • April 11, 2006

Hello friends,

Lots of great new releases have landed today! We highly recommend the new albums by El Perro Del Mar, Jesu, Built To Spill, Calexico, and Josephine Foster to mention just a few. Also, be sure to check out the new mini-album from the Parasol family's newest addition, The 1900s. The 1900s harness the resulting fury to build psychedelic pop music, most notably inspired by The Zombies, Fleetwood Mac, Belle & Sebastian, Donovan, Tommy James, and Velvet Underground.

Be well,

Paul/Roy AKA Proy

Frank Lenz - Vilelenz & Thieves CD $10.00 (A Hidden Agenda Record-080)
With Vilelenz And Thieves our favorite renaissance man orbits within his home studio cosmos, creating a Technicolor cloudburst of homespun ballads channeling Neil Young and early Built To Spill, with a drizzling of folk, bombastic orchestral pop, and head-over-heels lyricism.

New Releases

303s, The
Lines Of Parallel Minds
PS, US Electronics, rock, ephemera, and mood make New Jersey's The 303s an ingenious meld of power and fragility. Ingrid Dahl and Parixit Davé learned most of their musical savvy together, unknowingly creating their own reverb-eclectic pop sound that resonates with intense attention to detail. The 303s music overflows with loud yet sweet aural dialogues that showcase Ingrid and Parixit's shared attractions to anxiety, love, experimentation, and letdown amidst all of their jarring guitars, complex rhythms, shoegazy fuzz, and synthesizer harmonics. Lines of Parallel Minds, the beautifully produced (by Stephen Hindman of Lismore) debut album, creates something new: a fluid balance between lo-fi and majestic, between careful and random, between indifference and sincerity... The best of parallel like-minded minds.

Reflektionen Musique
PS, US Named after the date many believed would be the end of existence as we know it, 5/5/2000-TRAVIS RYAN (CATTLE DECAPITATION, Attention Deficit Recordings chief) and NATHAN BERLINGUETTE (CREATION IS CRUCIFIXION, M. KOURIE, Daft Alliance records bossman) unleashes an album of startling sonic paranoia. Includes the duo's last studio track recorded sometime between 1999 and 2000, along with a beautiful live set performed on SDSU's KCR radio.

Aloha
Some Echoes
PS, US Aloha loves a bit of everything (60's orchestral pop, prog rock, 20th century composers, iconic songwriters), but they don't dabble here and there. They meld it all to make their own, unmistakable noise on this, their fourth album. "Aloha makes warm, progressive rock with a dreamy, resonant aftertaste. The early Genesis-inspired four-piece has skillfully crafted an ambitious and intriguing fusion of pop, punk, and jazz rock" - CNN. "A perfect laser show soundtrack for the art school set" - Entertainment Weekly.

Antena
Toujours Du Soleil
PS, UK A brand new album from Antena - stylish French electro-bossa pioneers whose debut Camino Del Sol is now an acknowledged genre classic. Antena's groundbreaking mix of Kraftwerk, Suicide and the breezy tropicalia of the Gilberto family (Joao, Astrud and Bebel) sounds as fresh in 2006 as in 1982, when John Foxx produced their debut single, The Boy From Ipanema, and future Pet Shop Boy Neil Tennant tagged them 'electro-samba'. The label still applies, and echoes of the Antena sound can be heard in artists as diverse as Stereolab, Electralane and Thievery Corporation indeed the latter duo co-wrote two of the thirteen songs on Toujours du Soleil. The remixed Antena trio for 2006 consists of main songwriter Isabelle Antena together with daughter Penelope Fasy (replacing her father Sylvain) and hip Brussels dj Axailes Solar. Conceived as a sequel to Camino Del Sol, Toujours du Soleil (Always the Sun) was recorded on the French Riviera and produced by Dr Drak, Shape and The Cool Groove Sessions. Featuring a stellar cast of prestigious international guests, the 2006 Antena trip takes you from Paris to Tokyo, Goa to Washington CD. Stand-out tracks include energetic stepper Le Spinner (already familiar from the Samsonite ad campaign), future lounge classic Toujours du Soleil and the electro-groovy Love is to Blame, as well as a magical version of the laid-back America classic Horse With No Name. "Essential 2005's most charming musical surprise" (Mojo, December 2005).

Appleseed Cast
Peregrine
PS, US The 6th studio album from this Lawrence, Kansas band is a force to be reckoned with. An album equally well-suited to both driving long distances watching scenery fly by and lying around with a pair of good-quality headphones, it's a dense and multi-textural forest of sound, full of delicate nuances and nearly fathomless in its depth. Shifting constellations of guitar and warm-sounding vocals are driven forward by consistently compelling percussion, coming together to form something very powerful.

Ark, The
State Of The Ark
PS, US Swedish glam-pop-over-the-top outfit's debut U.S. release, an immensely enjoyable listen! SPIN REVIEW: "The third album by these Swedish showmen is actually a gutsy, heartfelt lesson in casual rock sass with at least as many melodies as the Darkness' latest." /// ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY REVIEW: "The Ark meld Elvis Costello's crisp, caustic hooks and Queen's charismatic overindulgence." /// TIME OUT NY REVIEW: "The Ark is Malmo Sweden's answer to Scissor Sisters: knowing but not ironic, melodic and playful; and last but not least, gleefully over the top. Unselfconscious but aware, Ola Salo is the perfect pop star for our cynical times."

Black Angels
Passover
PS, US Hailing from the mescaline-infused outskirts of Austin, this gang of misfits has been on the road non-stop since their birth. Self-titled debut EP was dubbed highly recommended in Spin Magazine & received heavy radio airplay on such influential stations as KEXP & BBC Radio 1 by Zane Lowe. Breakage
Drowning
PS, US Classic "oceanic jungle" from Scientific Wax label co-founder. Two blissful tracks which seem to have been on dub for years. Both push the boundaries of what was once known as oceanic jungle, "Drowning" with blissful vocal samples and "The 9th Hand" with detuned drum pads and an amazing chopped-up Apache break.

Brutal Knights
Pleasure is All Thine
PS, US Feat. Nick Flanagan (Teen Crud Combo) & the Sharon brothers (Hacksaw). If you don't already know, Toronto has been responsible for some of the best current punk bands going (Fucked Up, Career Suicide, Terminal State) & now these guys. Their 'Not Fun' 7" raised a few eyebrows but failed to really capture BK's sound & intensity. Luckily, this album is not only a huge improvement with a solid mix/mastering, but it also includes the bands best material to date making this a total shredder.

Built To Spill
You in Reverse
PS, US Built to Spill haven't released an album for five years, and the time off seems to have rejuvenated the band -- You in Reverse is full of fire and energy. The bandmembers play with a thrilling blend of abandon and sensitivity on this mix of accessible guitar rockers, twisting and turning guitar workouts, and somber balladry with enough intelligence and emotion to put groups half their age to shame (and by the looks of the gray in their beards, they are getting up there). Many of the songs on You in Reverse are midtempo ballads, some quiet and autumnal ("Traces"), most trippy and bursting with wild and dramatic guitar solos ("The Wait," "Gone"). All of them are quite heart-rending, with Doug Martsch's melancholy everyman vocals and the emotion (in his voice but especially in the guitars) flowing like tears from the speakers. Most of the tracks also feature spiraling guitar solos and climaxes that conjure up images of the bandmembers on-stage at an outdoor stadium jamming their beards off as the crowd goes bananas. These songs are impressive, but the album really shines on the tracks that boost the tempo. "Conventional Wisdom" is a raging rocker that rides an inspired guitar melody into alt-rock guitar nirvana, sounding like the best tune Dinosaur Jr. never wrote (although those slackers never would have thrown a chamber music-inspired instrumental bridge into the middle of a song before freaking out with an epic solo). "Mess with Time" charges ahead like an angry rhino, kicking up guitar sparks and sounding a lot like classic Wipers in the process. Best of all is the amazing "Goin' Against Your Mind," an almost nine-minute guitar explosion that kicks off the album in breathtaking style. By the time it's through playing, you'll be hard-pressed to imagine a way the rest of the album could stand up to its intensity and drama. That the record does manage to acquit itself superbly is quite an accomplishment. Though there are no great surprises on You in Reverse, it is one of Built to Spill's strongest efforts, and anyone who has followed their career knows that this is high praise indeed.

PS, US Where the open blue skies of the landscapes they chronicled before were normally tempered by the smoky dark blues of their jazz influences, it's musically brighter, though this time the skies are tempered by a darker lyrical content. This is where they fill those dusty, empty landscapes they documented with a big, big sound.

Casavola, Franco
Futurlieder
28 tracks. Futurlieder, the very first dedicated album of music by the leading Italian Futurist composer, theorist and writer Franco Casavola. Born near Bari in 1891, Franco Casavola was invited to join the Futurist movement by F.T. Marinetti in 1922. Casavola wrote a number of scores for theatre productions, including the mechanical ballets Anihccam del 3000 and Fantasia Meccanica. He also wrote a number of essays and manifestoes on future music, and Futurist novel, Introduction to Madness. Casavola broke with Futurism in 1927, and afterwards scored movies. He died in Bari in 1955. Although Franco Casavola claimed to have destroyed all his Futurist scores in 1927, recent research has proved otherwise. Futurlieder gathers together short Futurist pieces such as Dance of the Monkeys (Hop Frog), Zoological Foxtrot, Epileptic Cabaret and Campari (one of the first published advertising jingles). In addition the 66 minute CD includes longer song cycles such as Tankas, Liriche, La sera and Gioielleria notturna, all of which are later works (though still avowedly Modernist), and include settings of lyrics by the poet Gabriele d'Annunzio. All 28 tracks on Futurlieder are previously unreleased and were recorded by virtuoso Italian duo Daniele Lombardi (piano) and Susanna Rigacci (soprano) between 1994 and 2004. The tracks were produced by Carlo Piccardi for Radio Svizzera/Rete-Due, with whom this CD is a co-production. The cover art is based on a 1932 design by Fortunato Depero.

Circle
Arkades
PS, UK Arkades catches a session Finnish group, Circle, recorded exclusively for WFMU during their US tour, on 19/9/05. Comprising two lengthy pieces taking up a side each, 'The Greatest Kingdom' and 'The Ghost of the Highway', it focuses on their often spacey improv. underpinning and applies new meaning to a vision which strides powerfully over the line dividing apocalyptic dread from a semblance of hope. Agonised wailing, screams and torrents of molten sound dance ghostly shapes over psychedelic keyboard patterns, distant clattering, moonlit guitars and a rhythm section so carefully tempered that it's impossible not to feel the chemistry at work. Coupled to a fantastic sleeve which illustrates a homage to spaghetti western films and includes fitting notes by WFMU's Program Director, Brian Turner, Arkades proves what these New Wave of Finnish Heavy Metallers are capable of when they leave most of the rock at the door. File somewhere near Acid Mothers Temple after having been given the kinda makeover only the Scandinavians have the formula for.

Connors, Loren
Moon Gone Down
PS, US Not since the Spring of 1995 when the one-sided "Adonis" 7"(Father Yod/Black Label) was released has New York City guitarist LOREN CONNORS (aka LOREN MAZZACANE CONNORS) so laid total harrowing devastation and emotion to vinyl. Descriptions, images and ideas do not qualify the two part "Moon Gone Down." Combining the near minimalist path of this years "Departing of a Dream Vol. II" and the clean guitar blues of his 1990 "CD Rooms" (S. Joan), Loren paints a vast portrait of the still night riding to its end. Not standing alone here, in between Loren's lone, distantly spaced guitar notes falls clinking metal, bass guitar and the distant moan of hounds.

Instead of approaching the instrument in a traditional manner, Crumb sets about his task by tampering with the interior of the piano in various ingenious ways. Paper, glass cups, and all manner of weird and wonderful objects are used to aid Crumb in his quest, producing a stunning set of works which stand up as a bold and brave statement against traditional means of approaching the piano. Margaret Leng Ten performs Crumb's works at his prepared piano here, with all 24 MAKROKOSMOS pieces getting an airing. 110 mins

Crystal Skulls
Outgoing Behavior
PS, US Instead of angular post-Fall inspired riffage or the art-damaged tones of their angsty Seattle neighbors, these boys have studied their AM radio classics, finding as much in common with Donald Fagan as contemporary homeboys The Sea And Cake. With a bite of George Harrison's guitar and a nip at Stereolab's rhythms, last year's debut "Blocked Numbers" was a true pop pleasure. This, their follow-up, channels a cocky hint of "Meat Is Murder"-era Smiths and sits on a treasure chest of songs that Todd Rundgren would gladly drop trou for. Vocalist Wargo's nu-lounge swagger carries his well-honed band through eleven tracks of smoky AM glory. "Clean, tight, and tuneful" - The Washington Post.

Deupree, Taylor
Northern
PS, US The inspiration behind Northern (including its music, title and photography) comes from Deupree's recent relocation from the heart of urban activity in Brooklyn to the tranquility of the forest in upstate New York. Inspired by nature and the winter during which it was created, Northern, like much of his recent work, explores Deupree's interest in stillness and a slowed sense of time. Through quiet textures, subtle movements, faint loops and echoes, it was his goal to create the type of music that comes naturally to him while also highlighting the input from his dramatic new surroundings. In contrast to the brazen repetition found on Stil., Northern more ephemeral approach to Deupree's theme comes from looking at the stillness found outside of his studio windows: large, looming boulders, the softness of snow, and the hushed whisper of wind and fallen leaves; it is a world of countless tiny movements so active that an implied stillness results from the din it creates. Deupree's earthbound ideas in the album are rooted in his choice of sounds and studio practices. His now-signature Kyma manipulations are still prominent, but they have been applied to improvised electric piano, melodica, guitar, and field recordings using techniques picked up from his experimental/pop collaboration with Eisi (Every Still Day, Noble Records, Japan, 2005). A careful balance is kept through the layering of synthetic source tones of basic waveforms and long, drawn-out, fragile swells. Northern is melodic, warm and introspective, forming a bed of sound that is simultaneously quiet and noisy, structured and unsettled, looping and chaotic. Deupree has dedicated Northern to his closest friend of his teenage years, Bryan Charles Striniste, with whom he first started experimenting in electronic music over 20 years ago. Deupree's relocation to a nearby area much like the one where he grew up spurred memories of those days of early musical playfulness. Thus, Northern became highly personal and nostalgic while at the same time breaking into new territory for Deupree, echoing the changes in his personal life.Northern is the first solo CD from Taylor Deupree since 2004's January (Spekk, Japan), and the first on 12k since the seminal Stil. (12k, 2002).

Fe-Mail
Blixter Toad
PS, US The latest from Scandinavian duo FE-MAIL-MAJA RATKJE and HILD SOFIE TAFJORD of improv quartet SPUNK. This two disc set is best described as the taxonomic designation of feminine conviction through gadgetry and acoustic archaeology. Their cut up crescendos of piercing frequencies appear like rattle snakes you find under the rocks, as you search for a jewel-encrusted music box, unsure if they'll poison you or cure you. A voice screams like an effected guitar in the distance, reminding you to come home from the thicket before the animals become more aggressive. Blixter Toad's final track coalesces into the Sunday morning dew collecting on the surface of Fe-mail's electroacoustic lily-pads. Two embryonic visual studies (videos) by MASAKO TANAKA are included, featuring shot surveillance from the live sessions for the recording of the album.

Five Mod Four
Whiskers
PS, US A mixture of keen observations related through jangly pop melodies & crisp, light rhythms wrapped up in a nostalgic blanket. They translate their influences & songcraft into something uniquely their own - a pop record of lazy perfection that spans a record collector"s most prized LPs, a bookworm"s favorite texts & a seeker"s latest thrill. It was no accident that The Onion declared them descendents of England"s "Angry Young Men" as they resonated with likeminded folk.

Follow The Train
A Breath OF Sigh
PS, US Songwriter Dennis Sheridan and friends Andy Hurt, Bill Green, and Angela Green give birth to a pop sound with pure Kentucky soul. The drums are delivered with solid precision, the bass is driving and powerful, and the keys provide comfortable atmosphere that swim through thick, sparkling guitar as vocals rise and fall with the tide of sound. A Breath of Sigh features guest appearances from Meredith Noel (Les Debutantes), Jim James (My Morning Jacket), and Kevin Ratterman (ex-Elliott). Kevin Ratterman produced, engineered, and recorded the album at his studio, The Funeral Home (a real, functioning funeral home) in Louisville, KY. Recommended if you like: The Church (Starfish-era), The Cure (Seventeen Seconds & Faith-era), INXS, House Of Love, Blue Oyster Cult, REM, The Flaming Lips, Seam.

Foster, Josephine
A Wolf In Sheeps Clothing
PS, US Over the course of just a few years, Foster has captivated audiences and critics alike through a magnetic patchwork of recordings ranging from broken spirited balladry ("Born Heller") to fiery psych rock gestalt ("All The Leaves Are Gone") to the voice of an outsider folk siren ("Hazel Eyes, I Will Lead You"). The one constant is the utterly overwhelming strength and seductive unease of her voice and the bravery of an iconoclastic spirit. A deeply absorbing, magical reconstruction of 19th century German art songs that float in a wash of blissed voice and electric guitar in an almost dreamlike fashion through a salon of her own invention. She makes a case for German as one of the previously unknown romance languages.

Galbraith, Alastair/Matt DeGennaro
From the Dark (South Island): Long Wires in Dark Museums Vol. 2
PS, US These architectural idiosyncrasies are transformed into nuanced & hypnotic audio. Wires -some as long as 100 ft- are affixed throughout a building. When the wires are taut & stroked with rosined hands or a piece of leather, longitudinal vibrations are sent to the points of attachment, creating a natural resonator. It is not the wires that make the sound, but the wall, railing or window frames at their end; wire length & room acoustics determine the pitch. The result, achieved in a veil of total darkness, is a beauttiful & eerie confluence of chance & accident, architecture & improvisation.

Hackamore Brick
One Kiss Leads To Another
PS, US Great odd album that answers the question "what would the Velvet Underground sound like if they had come from a folk background?" They can't decide if they're hippies or artsy weirdos, and this record makes one think they could have pulled off either if they really wanted to. It ranges from stark slow ballads that recall the third VU album to upbeat folk-rock to moody psych numbers with some great unhinged organ and guitar playing. Some of the lyrics are introspective. Others are ditties about bananas, the joys of radio, and drag races in which the driver's girlfriend falls out of the car window. Something here to appeal to every variation of freak out there. Also included is the non-LP "A" side, "Searchin'."

Harwood, Christine
Nice To Meet Miss Christine
PS, UK Chris Harwood's debut LP for Miki Dallon's obscure British Birth label was the only record she ever made. No singles were ever released and it was seldom heard beyond those shores - the making of a record collector's holy grail. Alongside the obscure Vashti Bunyan LP, Shirley Collins and Julie Covington's early solo LP, 'Nice to Meet Miss Christine' remains one of the most sought after English female folk records ever released. You just have to listen to her cover of CSN&Y's 'Wooden Ships' to realize why. Miss Christine's naked vocals ride a rock-solid back beat with clavinet funk and a wash of luscious strings sending you into a trance-like state. Featuring a veritable who's who of rock and folk, including Yes guitarist Peter Banks, Strawbs guitarist Dave Lambert, Joe Cocker/Juicy Lucy/Sensational Alex Harvey Band Hammond organist 'Tommy Eyre' Plummer, bass player Roger Sutton (Brain Auger & Julie Driscoll) - this rare-as-hens-teeth record (fetching in excess of £200 on internet auction sites) is on the wants list of

Hemstad
S-T EP
PS, US/SWEDEN Instrumental noise-pop! One may be tempted, when hearing Hemstad for the first time, to point out the fact that there are no vocals. But One would be wrong, wouldn't One? Because sometimes, the band says "Doo doo doo" or "La la la" or stuff like that. And that counts as vocals. Check the Rock and Roll Handbook, page 93, section 102A; you'll see. If a band is nothing more than the sum of its musical parts, then Hemstad must be a number with a hell of a lot of digits in it. And decimals. Lots and lots of decimals. Imagine, if you will, that The Meters, rather than coming up with their unique brand of R&Funk'nB out of the American Bayou in the 60s, had instead been born on the cusp of the 80s as fair Svennar, and then fed with a steady diet of Indiepop for the next 20 years. Hemstad's sound is that of elevator music, if the elevator was on acid, and only stopped on floors that opened up to the happiest, most ass-shaking Rock and Roll dance parties. Stairway To Heaven? Why take the stairs when there's an elevator? Think Bob Hund, Bergman Rock, The Citizens without David... Wiredblog's Listening Post REVIEW: "Their twee instrumental zonks fall somewhere between The Go! Team and Pavement."

Concussions
PS, US DANIEL MENCHE is usually known for creating towering infernos out of densely droning layers of incinerating sound. On Concussions, Menche goes soaring into a relentless world of propulsive pulse, where powerful, poly-rhythmic percussives pound and merge together. The result is an intense avalanche of overdriven noise blasts that actually rock hypnotically in a periodic way that is seldomly heard. Fans of the recent Boredoms material or the primitive metal banging from Einsturzende Neubauten/Test Department industrial strength era will be pummeled by an accelerated experience with this opus. What you have here is some "smart songwriting" created by electric guitars, piano, subtle electronics, & voices. The 7 songs speak of late twenties confusion, friends you can sell, & the anxiety of just trying to keep your shit together. The band has toured the midwest & is headed back out in 2006. Includes a member of GHOSTS AND VODKA. Ratkje, Maja
Stalker
PS, UK This vinyl only picture disc release is limited to only 500 copies worldwide. Renowned international composer Maja Ratkje is a founding member in two of Norway's most respected improvisational units - Spunk & Fe-Mail. While her solo work on the Rune Grammofon release Voice is without the electronic and instrumental elements of Spunk and Fe-Mail, Stalker finds Maja merging elements of her other projects into her solo endeavors. Ranging from furious to tender, Stalker was recorded in Paris and at various live dates around Europe. This live material was then brought back to a studio in Norway and laboriously editited for release. Like much of Ratkje's work Stalker flawlessly contrasts these two disctinct emotional and audio extremes. While Stalker is influenced the the hardest Japanese noise it is also a quiet emotional drift based around Bertold Brecht's story of a girl who has drowned and is floating down a river while her body slowly dissolves leaving only her hair to remain. With this dichotomy hanging in limbo Ratkje fills in the blanks with her signature compositional attention to detail and balance.

Sala-Arhimo
Self-Titled
PS, US This debut oozes a slow psychedelic radiance from a half-frozen world of hibernation. A bit of ancient Pink Floyd as reference point, perhaps some of the jazz-like moments of Faust's more gentle side, but here all comparisons end. This is another one of those 'you need to hear it, but there's no way to get it' Finnish geniuses whose music shares much affinity with the Lal lal lal crowd (Kemialliset Ystavat, Avarus, etc.), but focuses less on the purely experimental, & more on rich, melodic drones & voice.

Captain Wild Horse (Rides the Heart of Tomorrow)
PS, US NOW AVAILABLE!!! The latest from Chicago (by way of the Pacific Northwest) singer/songwriter SHELLEY SHORT. Alternately dramatic and humble, dynamic and hushed, Short's ethereal style is full of mystery and portent. Features backing from ANDY RADER (CAN KY REE, GYPSEE GARAGE COMBO, PINETOP SEVEN), TIFFANY KOWALSKY (BRIGHT EYES, M. WARD, MAYDAY), and JAMIE CARTER, and guest appearances by RACHEL BLUMBERG (DECEMBERISTS, NORFOLK AND WESTERN) and CORY GRAY (DESERT CITY SOUNDTRACK).

Included are 1969's "Touch," which is recorded here for the first time in 4-channel sound; the first release of the entire version of 1978's "A Sky of Cloudless Sulphur"; and, for the first time ever, a recording of "Gestures: It Begins with Colors," featuring Joan LaBarbara on vocals. Super XX Man
X
PS, US Built on simple melodies, these songs have classic appeal recalling Buddy Holly or early Willie Nelson. Couched in major chord harmonies, the lyrics have an optimistic halo, beckoning the listener to sing along. In so doing, one will sing narratives of life & love that, while not shying away from spirituality, illuminate the dilemmas of being human. In the world of Super XX Man, we are encouraged to find someone to call "darlin," we"re inspired to "stroll on through," & we"re reminded that amazing grace is a sweet sound.

Swagger Jack
Feral Blood of...
PS, US It might draw comparison to John Fahey's Blind Joe Death, if only that both characters are completely fictional. Fans should have no problem detecting that this is New Zealand's ANTONY MILTON in full-on song-writing mode (versus his noisier projects such as AM & Nether Dawn.) Self described hillbilly/bluegrass/folk music, he couldn't have been more wrong. This is the sort of brilliant misinterpretation that almost always results in something truly new & innovative.

Tivol
Interstellar Overbike
PS, US These psychedelic monsters are a lot like another great Finnish psych-rock band, Pharaoh Overlord. Their previous outings have been bombastic sonic nightmares, & this is no exception. Over the course of the album, they shed their skin & howl at the moon. Guitar, bass, drums, & vocals are the weapons of choice here, but this is music that is totally drenched in space debris. This is a monolithic journey that will inject caffeine directly into your pulsating vei
